Overview
Coteau is made for a single-hillside estate that would rather tell one story well than list a catalogue. The homepage reads like a magazine feature — a full-bleed cover, a long-form manifesto with drop cap and pull quote, a terroir cross-section, the cuvées as alternating full-width spreads, a vintage timeline, and the year of the vine.
The signature is a real Three.js wine glass on the cover: a lathed glass with physical transmission that refracts a warm cellar environment, and a wine body revealed by a moving clipping plane — the glass literally fills with wine as you scroll. A second technique draws the estate’s terroir cross-section in SVG as you pass it: the soil strata fade in and the vine roots draw themselves downward, each stratum’s caption lighting in turn. A third is an interactive, draggable vintage timeline. Set in Cormorant Garamond and EB Garamond with drop caps, pull quotes and antique-gold hairlines — deliberately unlike the grotesque-driven templates elsewhere in the catalogue.
