Seaward

Ocean energy, at grid scale.

Highlights

  • A distinct “waterline” macro layout — nautical depth-datum section bands (▲ 00.0 m MSL … − 90 m) descend from the sea surface to the seabed, instead of the usual hero-and-stacked-cards structure
  • Signature full-bleed, genuinely simulated ocean-surface hero — summed Gerstner waves with analytic normals and PBR-styled water (sky reflection, Fresnel, low-sun glitter, crest foam) plus a procedural offshore wind farm on the horizon, real WebGL2
  • A GPU curl-noise wind flow-field — ~262,000 particles advected every frame through a divergence-free field via a WebGL2 float-texture ping-pong, drawn as luminous streaks (stateful GPU simulation, with a static fallback)
  • Animated SVG energy-flow diagram (sea → converter → grid), a Project CPT + Technology taxonomy with real site data and status pills, a live sea-state ticker, and an AJAX partnership enquiry

Overview

Seaward is for wave, tidal and offshore-wind developers. Its layout archetype is a waterline: nautical depth-datum bands that descend from the sea surface toward the seabed as you scroll, so the page structure itself carries the subject rather than decorating it. The hero is a genuinely simulated ocean surface — summed Gerstner waves with PBR-styled water shading and a procedurally placed wind farm on the horizon — running in self-hosted Three.js WebGL2.

The same physical language continues down the page: a GPU curl-noise wind flow-field pushing roughly 262,000 particles through WebGL2 float-texture ping-pong, and an animated SVG diagram that traces energy from turbine to substation to grid without needing a GPU at all, so the story survives on low-power devices. A Project post type and a Technology taxonomy organise a developer’s portfolio by site and by generation method.
