Overview
Chroma is a colour-forward cosmetics theme organised around a Palette Rail — a sticky vertical swatch strip that recolours the page’s live accent as you scroll, so the brand’s own range drives the interface instead of a fixed theme colour. The hero is a real-time GPU pigment-fluid simulation: a genuine stable-fluids solver with semi-Lagrangian advection, vorticity confinement and Jacobi pressure projection, written in raw WebGL2 and self-hosted. It behaves like pigment in water because it is solving for that, not sampling noise.
An interactive Shade Wall lets shoppers filter the range, cross-fade between shades on a live preview and hold up to five in a compare tray — the decision a cosmetics buyer actually makes, built as a real interface rather than a gallery. A scroll-drawn botanical diagram traces each ingredient from plant to formulation, and the product architecture is built for a range with many shades per SKU rather than a handful of single items.
